Did you clean the chambers, install a new safety relief valve, and exhaust control valve? Did you use the OEM style piston with the three steel rings or replace with the NAA-530 piston using the rubber O-Ring and leather wiper? Is the 'wishbone linkage' connected? Can try the leak test first via inspection covers. I doubt you have a blown gasket, but the cylinder has three gaskets - two small round ones and one large oval one. Often fellas miss the two small ones. I suggest you invest in this excellent DIY video -SEE LINK -for more help.
