Take your battery to a reliable shop and have it bench tested under load on their test equipment. Just because you apply a battery charger don't assume it will charge a dead battery -it won't. NO NO NO, there is NO solenoid on the 9N/2N starter motor- not the problem. Study your diagram. Do you have the 1-Wire Generator with the roundcan cutout? Do you have a belt tensioning device on the genny? If belt tension isn't maintained, you will never charge the battery with your genny. You can motor test genny, starter, battery and cutout at your trusty shop. Best to download the MPC's -save on your desktop in a folder (they are free -need Adobe to get them in pdf) and find your FO-4 manual.
