Iím very sorry Bruce, I misread your comment. I understand what you are saying.

As per my original comment just to explain, the starter motor is installed on the tractor but I didnít trust the positive drive bendex as it looked vastly different from the original but went in okay. I kept the battery disconnected and slowly wound the engine by the hand crank at the front before I started breaking either the flywheel or starter motor on the starter button.

When I do this, I hear some slight contact and I am worried that this fouling somewhere so my question is if the bendex is suitable for this tractor.
