We have a 1950 8n that we purchased last year and we're using it more frequently to do hobby farming and for small jobs around our property. My wife loves this tractor.
Never had any issues with overheating, but the radiator fluid (the brown sludge as I can best describe) absolutely needs to be changed. I have no idea when the last time the cooling system was maintained. When we bought the tractor, I honestly believe that the fella that sold it to us didn't use it enough to stir up the crud that we have since we started using it regularly. Not sure if the radiator is original and I'm at the point where I will need to replace hoses, thermostat, water pump and coolant. I've read the posts on how to drain and flush the cooling system and I'm ready to do this. My question is whether or not I would be better-off replacing the radiator (primarily because of the age) while I'm doing all the remaining tasks or just do the maintenance? I'd rather not spend the $$ on a radiator replacement, but would I be better off in the long run with replacing the everything at once?
