Tim, many thanks for your interest in trying to solve my problem, but it seems that I did not explain clearly my question. For your understanding I restored the 3 tractors by myself, starting that 30 years ago. I completed the restoration of all of them around 15 years ago. The problem started when the old voltage regulator of one of my tractors failed and I needed to replace it. As in Chile, where I live, it is impossible to buy a VR in the local market, I asked for help. JMOR recommended me to buy a C0NF10505A what I did. I connected it in the proper way, polarized it connecting the Battery and Field cables before connecting them to the VR with the system energized. After that, the gen started charging about 10-15 amp for one or 2 minutes and then it stopped to charge. After that I tried many things to have the generator char ging continuously. The VR always had the same weird behaviour. In summary what I need to know is why the new VR is working that way and if I can repair it or replace it. Following your recommendation,I checked continuity and insulation of all the cables running between generator and VR. Btw, the generator passed the motorizing test.
