After several days of tracing and replacing, I found that the baffle resister wire (this is the ceramic piece) was broken, so replace that (O'Reilly
Auto Parts). Still no luck, so I replaced the solenoid (also from O'Reilly). No luck. Then I had a Georgia Tech engineer look at it. In about a minute, he found a fuse tucked behind the wiring--the light switch did not have a fuse, so I assumed no fuse. Problem solved.

Lesson learned.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice.
