I drove an 8N regularly 40 years ago...now I'm a newbie owner. I've acquired a 1946 2N to both restore over time and use in the immediate future. The tractor has been converted to 12V with a new 1-wire alternator but the wiring on the tractor looks nothing like any of the diagrams on your website. It's almost as if someone just tried anything that worked. I've read through numerous 12V conversion articles and still cant decide what resistor setup I need. The original OEM thermal resistor was completely fried and bypassed. There is one obviously new white ceramic resister inline with the coil. I believe I have it wired correctly now (thanks to your online resources!!) but not sure of the resistance requirements. I've seen a few references to testing the coil and total system resistance but not clear on the process. Appreciate any guidance.
