I have a 52 8N.I put a temp gauge on mine with the sensor in the radiator hose. I put the sensor closest to the head with the thermostat closer to the radiator. You can watch the temperature build up as the engine warms up and when the thermostat opens you can see the gauge drop slightly to the normal operating temperature. With the sensor that close to the head you get a pretty accurate reading. I used the gauge for a NAA with the yellow green and red bands. Works really good.
