I took one apart once to see if I could fix it. I DO have a LOT of experience in such things as a former appliance tech, but I could NOT figure out how mine was supposed to make any contact! It was off a purchased tractor & I knew no history, so it's possible it was faulty from the beginning. I was fortunate in that the one I bought has worked perfectly.
Maybe it's a good thing I couldn't fix it as there was no way mine could go back together & stay together!
