There are various tachometers available that work by either a pickup from a spark plug wire or sensing a mark on the crankshaft pulley. However before you spend the money for one, most people just adjust the carburetor by ear. A tachometer is good, however for setting the maximum engine rpm with the governor linkage the first time a new governor is installed. Hopefully others will join in on how they adjust the carburetor. There is the low speed mix, high speed mix, and idle speed.
