What was wrong with the OEM M/S (assumed)carb? Did you try to rebuild it? FORD designed all the major components to be rebuilt over and over and should always be your first choice when doing PM or repairs. Any new aftermarket part is going to be made/cloned from a clone, in Cheena to begin with and secondly, not made to OEM spec so do not expect it to be tweaked and inspected by QC. There are NO QC departments in Cheena. Don't assume you can just take it out of the box and put it on your tractor and it is going run fine. Get out your OEM OPER Manual or FO-4 Manual and make the carb settings as described. If problem continues, can get into the governor next but I wouldn't muck with that until you get the carb right. Should not have to pull the choke when under load. There is an outside chance the problem is in the tank and Sediment Bulb and obstructed fuel flow. Perform the Fuel Flow Test using the fuel line. Engine COLD; place empty coffee can under carb on ground; loosen fuel line on carb and direct towards the empty can. Open Sediment Bulb Valve 2 Full Turns. Observe fuel flows in an unobstructed steady stream and fills 1 pint in 2 minutes. Any hesitation, stopping and starting, or weak stream indicates the obstruction is a clogged Bulb and/or gas tank. Chugging or stopping when on an incline would indicate starving for fuel so verify fuel test passes first, then get into the carb settings. "...Seems to be adjusted ..." means what? You did get into settings? You did inspect internally to see if float is set right? If you still have your OEM Marvel/Schebler TSX-241 Carb, I rebuild these so email me if you want me to look at it. If not, I'd be interested in buying it.
