A similar thing happened to my closest friend last week.
When he first acquired his 1963, 2000 LCG SOS, he just had to modify several things that he believed that he could make better.
One of his modifications was to convert it to 12V, relocating the keyswitch to the right side, eliminating the push-button start switch, replacing it with a key start switch. Because the wire from the neutral start switch under the top cover of the SOS was broken, he simply did away with this feature, and has been operating the tractor this way for about two years.
Last week, while operating it in 6th gear, the engine died due to a faulty battery connection at the starter. Of course the 12V conversion does not charge the battery either.
Expecting the battery cable, he stepped off to "wiggle" it. Having done so, while laying on the ground so that he could see underneath the hood (don't know why), he thought he would check to see if it would start by reaching up to "tap" the key-start switch. It would, and it did.
Before he could move our of the way, one of the rear tires caught his foot pinning him. The tractor, in SOS 6th and with a lowered grader blade on the back ran up his leg, across his pelvis and chest missing his head by about 2 inches. It then dropped from his torso right on top of his hand.
After all of this, he was caught by the partially raised blade and rolled along a ways until he was deposited to the side.
He's a big strong fellow but 55 years old. Luckily, he does not appear to have any serious injuries but already had a bad back and now has a bad knee and hand to go with it.
The tractor had 8.4-24 duals on it which helped to distribute the weight but he was very lucky.
