OK Gang, here we go...
Going back a few posts to earlier this month the question on 9N/2N air cleaners was brought up. Last night I got a call from a member that wanted to know where he could get a "round cup" air cleaner for his early 8N s/n711. I gathered all my 8N manuals and MPCs and searched for a picture and/or part number to no avail. All the pictures I did find showed the square cup. Then I started flipping thru the green 8N Dealer Service Training Manual and there it was...a picture of a round cup air cleaner on an early 8N! The topic was recently brought up again over on the HISTORY Forum by Jonas Hasting with a link to the original post on 9N/2N air cleaners. I was not aware so many vendors and styles were used, were you? Below is a scan of the 8N Service Manual page. So let's all go the History page to add comments and more importantly to define a part number for this and manufacturer(s). By the way, all the MPCs and the green Service Manual are all available on CD from the NTC---go to the red tool bar at the top of this screen and click on SUPPORT NTC...
