2003 Chevy Trailblazer, 6 cyl. Does anyone know if I can remove the AC Clutch Pulley Bearing while the AC Compressor is still mounted on the vehicle?? Granddaughter borrowed it and called and told me the Serpentine Belt broke. I told her, "no problem, I will get a new one" after 16 years and 73000 miles. I put the new belt on and the engine "growled" like the battery was low. Then the new belt snapped. All of the other pulleys and idlers were free except the AC Pulley was locked up. The compressor shaft still turns freely and the magnet is not holding the pulley. In the meantime, I have put a new shorter belt on which by-passes the AC. Everything else is working. Doesn't look possible, but with this knowledgeable group, I thought I would ask. A "dilemma" is when you have 2 choices and neither is good.
