I have a hard time supporting our health insurance industry. Their profits are astronomical, while their coverage diminishes every year. There are really two very seperate entitys. The Health Insurance provider is one, Health Care providers (doctors and hospitals) is the other. It is possible to argue for either side on this issue. Private vs Government is also the main question at hand. MY first thought is always that insurers take in more money then they pay out. That means that we the people on average will always pay in to the insurance companies more then we will ever get back. When this was a reasonable amount this was a good deal, but it is no longer a reasonable amount. The insurance industry profits are billions of dollers per year, while their coverage sucks. Basic health insurance now costs the average family $2400 per month. That is twice the average mortgage.
