  • I'm searching for the shifter interlock for a 9N, part # 9N8229B. For all the thousands of new Ford 9N parts you can find that plate is not one of them. Thanks much!

  • Is your's missing or broken? This is a hard part to find. If your's is broken cleanly, welding it back may be the best solution. If missing, you may end up having to scour some tractor boneyards to find one. Hopefully, you'll get lucky and another member here may have access to one.

P.S. You have a typo in your part#. Should be 9N7229B.

    Best of luck with it........Ed

  • Thanks for the help. Mine is broken cleanly right where the hole for the starter rod goes. I think it's always been broken as the tractor has never had a starter interlock. I always start anything with a manual transmission with the clutch in and the vehicle in neutral so it's never been a safety issue for me. But since I have it apart to fix the spring, I'd like to fix the plate. Shame that it's so hard to find the part since it seems like you can get almost all the other parts to fix almost anything on the tractor. And thanks for pointing out the typo on the part number; it was late and I was posting from my phone

  • If it were mine, I would take it to a qualified machine shop and have it welded and reshaped.
