I recently acquired a Woods Brush Hog. It came equipped with a “floating” top link connection. I do not know if that is the correct term for it, nor do I know if it is original equipment for that mower.

My question is: What is the proper adjustment for the top link when the mower rear wheel and front height are both properly adjusted for mowing? Should the floating connection be horizontal in a straight line with the top link or should it be 90° to the top link? U end up or down?

Start at 25" center to center of top link. The operator manual will give further instructions. Even if purchased used, you can get pdf versions of their manuals online.
