  • Rear Tires
  • Hi guys.Hope everybody is doing well and your tractors are running good. I have a 52 8N and Im gonna have to put some new tires on the rear soon. Just wondering if any of ya'll have tried the BKT tires or Galaxy Earth Pro? BKTs are made in India and Earth Pros are made by Yokahoma. Thanks for any input.

  • Hey ya'll I appreciate your input. I've been seeing several bad revues on the Carlisle tires so thats why I was wondering about the BKTs and the Galaxys. Thanks for your replies. I already have more invested than the tractor is worth so new tires will really have me upside down but what the heck, I really like my little 8N.

  • Bought some Galaxy tires probably 15 years ago. Not sure if they are Earth Pros. Haven't use them hard, but seem like a well built tire to me. Didn't know they were made by Yokohama.

You're probably safe with any brand you buy. These tractors are not used hard anymore so don't need an ultra rugged tire. Price is the biggest selling point today. The ply rating is the most important thing, more plies means a more rugged tire. Then the tread design, but most are pretty generic. Keeping the rubber inside out of the weather makes a world of difference for longevity for any tire.

  • I put a set of BKTs on my 9N two years ago, and have been very pleased with them. Monster Trucks mostly run BKTs also, for whatever that's worth. I don't know about the Galaxy tires.

  • I put a set of BKT's on a friend's Ferguson TO-30, they seem a good quality tire and price is reasonable and they have the original style 45 lugs so they look right for your 52 8N if that is an issue.
