  • I just bought my first tractor last month at an auction. The paper work said it was a 1940 9N but the serial number is 9NBN 105621. I'm not sure what I have but it seems to me it's probably a 43' 2N but I don't know about the BN part, I can't seem to find out any information about it any help would be greatly appreciated. It runs really good and everything works as it should and I have been having a lot of fun with it. We bought 5 acres of woods last year and I'm going to use it to help clear some of the land and make firewood for personal use.

  • First let me say thank you for all the information. I'm really not sure what I have now so I was going to add some pictures but don't have photobucket so not sure how to do that without that. It's not really a big deal but it's fun and I'm not going to make it a show tractor but it is going to be a work tractor but I just am curious about it's history.

  • As mentioned, the 9NBN was an industrial model. Here's an original ad for them:

  • It looks just like a regular 9N so what makes it an Industrial tractor? Like I said my first tractor so probably going to ask a lot of questions.

  • Industrial could have one piece solid front axle, axle carrier, different braking system or BN motor just could have been swapped in. I've seen a few swaps.
