  • I'm working with Godaddy.com to try to solve the issue. Bare with me.

    Thanks,

  • Received a reply from Godaddy support about the caching problem. They changed the caching level on the firewall to "Minimal Caching". Minimal Caching will keep the cache only for 3-5 minutes and will then refresh the website content. They say that this should fix the issues we are seeing with the updates. Just remember to refresh the page after you post to show the new post/reply.

  • When I try to reply, I get this message:

This form is not secure. Autofill has been turned off.

  • The form specifies an HTTP rather than HTTPS URL as the ACTION attribute:

    <FORM METHOD=POST ACTION="http://www.ntractorclub.com/cgi/wwwboard.cgi">

Looks like a simple one charagter fix is all that is needed.

  • Nope. Srver properly configured to redirect to https.

Problem is the "secure proxy" is caching the dynamic pages. Note the dates:

  • Actually yep. The problem you are describing and the one Bruce is having are two different problems. Bruce's problem happens on the client long before the server, proxy, and redirects get involved. In my case Chrome complains every time any autocomplete field in the form gets focus. Most annoying and on my phone the pop-ups obscure the keyboard making it difficuult to even type a reply.

The caching problem is probably with GoDaddy but the URL problem is easily fixed by the NTC site administrators.

  • You need to hire on at NTC and fix this! I go to site and my post is not in the thread, come back later and it is there and come back another day & not there?????????????????
https vs http......if I type http and hit enter, it comes up https

  • Not me - I am retired. Deano is your man.

So here is how the HTTP vs HTTPS works. The site only does HTTPS. When you type in HTTP the site sees your connection start but refuses it and sends a "REDIRECT" to your browser telling it to try again on the HTTPS port. That connection succeeds a d your browser updates the URL to reflect the redirect. Got it?

  • I also found that my photos in my old posts in the archive are not showing. They should still be on my web site location and should come up, but not anymore.

  • Re: site problem?
  • Yes, I got a message:

    Can't locate /home/oxkhtcuskriq/public_html/forums//wwwboard.cfg in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/lib64/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 .) at wwwboard.cgi line 31.

Server problem that the admins will need to work on.
