  • Fire Extinguisher
  • I got a fire extinguiser I would like to mount on my 9N. I would appreciate a few ideas and pictures. I am undecided on location and method.

  • I mount one on the bracket that I made for my slow vehicle triangle which I mount to the rear bolt holding the seat assembly to the top of the hydraulic actuator. I just used a long steel angle strap that is about an inch or less wide and about a quarter inch thick, drilled it to mount the triangle and then the fire extinguisher on the other side facing the seat. I bent the piece in a vise so it angles up from the seat mount to clear the spring and attachment point and then rises straight up. Works great and uses only a single easily reached nut to hold it in place.

  • If you feel you really must have a fire extinguisher on your N -Hey, your tractor, your money pal, then may want to consider buying the Dennis Carpenter Reproduction Grease Gun Fender bracket and retro it an extinguisher.

  • I mounted one on my '40 9n using a plastic 1 lb folgers coffee can with a few hole drilled in bottom for drainage and holes to tie in to the brake cross rod and axle trumpet. This way no holes in fenders and out of the way for 3pt arms also easy access in ever needed.

  • Zip tie strapped or other to the 3 point arms.
    Bolted to the fender.

  • Have to have fairly quick access to be of value. If its secured too tight good luck.

  • It should pop out in about 1/2 second or less on my applications. The extinguisher holder is secured. Not the extinguisher itself.
