  • What does it have for a transmission? Does it have live PTO?

  • Live pto. Trans not an SOS. Purchased several weeks ago and dropped off at Ford for some work.

  • I will assume it has an 8 speed transmission since it has live PTO. It will easily handle a 5 ft tiller and maybe a 6 ft depending on the ground you are tilling.

  • mhb: Thanks. I'll look for a 5-6 footer. A tiller on a 3000 won't have a speed issue that the older n and hundred series have ? Gary

  • No, the 3000 w/o SOS has a high-low range shifter. If you till in low-first or second gear, and use your live PTO to turn over the tough spots, it will do just fine.

I used my 3000 with my neighbor's 5' roto-tiller and it worked great on my vegetable garden.
