  • Will someone please tell me the purpose for the flapper on the choke butterfly valve (p/n 9N-9549)? The one on my carburetor has been soldered closed. Thank you.

  • It is to ensure some air is available when the engine fires to avoid over fueling and keep it running especially if you are slow to open the choke.
