Position Control
I borrowed a scrap blade from my sister; first time using a blade. I don't think position control is working on my tractor. I just got the tractor back together last year and had only done some ploughing. Is position control suppose to allow me to float the blade off of the ground?

Re: Position Control
Hello. I have a 1949 8N. I just finished rebuilding the lift cover last spring. I used the square method to do the adjustments but I think maybe I should get Zane's Jig and go back in.

Re: Position Control
The jig is really important. Did you replace the cam follower pin? Is it in position control? Control rod straight?

Re: Position Control
The answer to all your questions is "Yes." I was careful trying to use the square method but I guess going back in and adjusting using the jig might be wise, and to recheck any parts. How important is the cam itself? I actually have another cam but figured my cam was OK.

Re: Position Control
If the pin didn't have a groove in it, it's fine.

Re: Position Control
The cam follower pin was worn flat but it was worn flat across the entire face of the pin.

Re: Position Control
I'd get the the jig and replace the pin. Derek should have both in stock.

Re: Position Control
What I did with the pin was to press it out and then flip it around and pressed it back in. I will get the jig and go back into the lift.
