Lift
The lift on my 1948 8N will work but as soon as I push the clutch in it drops, I have changed the fluid and made sure that it is not in draft mode. any suggestions will be appreciated

Re: Lift
As long as pump is running, the volume overcomes the leak, but clutch it & pump stops and volume of cylinder leaks out quickly. Most likely source of leak is piston to cylinder leak, with a small (wishful) possibility that there is trash holding the relief valve open.

Re: Lift
Or an old and weak relief valve. BTDT.

Re: Lift
I have had this tractor for over 20 years and it has always leaked down but very slowly, now almost instantaneous. after reading these posts and advice from others,I will replace the lift cylinder, piston and relief valve. Thank you so much for everyone's input you all have been a great help.

Re: Lift
I would add a new cam follower pin to the replacement parts while in there.
