  • The archives section seems to not be working, I always was able to type in my name and my old posts would come up immediately, now the page just sits there and then a time out page from Go Daddy comes up. I tried typing in "9N" and same result.

  • Narrow your number of indexes
  • Steve, I see the same problem (firewall timeout) when searching ALL indexes.

    Hosting Server Read Timeout
HTTP 502 Unable to Connect to the Origin Server
Please try again in a few minutes

Try narrowing your search to one of the selections in the second dropdown box and I think it will work for you.

  • Hi Ed,
That did work when I selected the top and next range of numbers. Unfortunately none of the photos on my posts came up. Something changed there as my photos are still in mu URL location. There were quite a few that I would refer someone with a question to so they could see an example of mine. Wonder if anyone else has this issue.

  • This is the first that I have heard from a member about not being able to access linked photos. Ever since GoDaddy moved us to their new platform we have been having other issues because our software behind this site is pretty ancient. GoDaddy is saying that we have significant security issues because of the software and has really locked us down in some ways.

If you don't mind, email me a few of the problem links and I'll see if I can help.

  • "Tulare Show Again" Posted by Steve Dabrowski on April 23, 2015 at 12:38:21

This was a post that showed some good photos of my 8N in final preparation for the Calif Antique Farm Equipment show. You are probably right it is the new platform. Nothing gets better, only worse!

It was under the 220K+ section.

  • Hi Ed,
I have my own copies, just concerned as to why they no longer come up in the archives.

  • Re: Security issue
  • GoDaddy has become super sensitive to potential security issues. They have a problem with our site because of the legacy software and framework.

If you copy the URL of one of your photos that are posted on the Tulare website into your browser (or just click on the link I posted above), you will probably see that your browser is informing you that the site is "not secure" (Chrome reports this to me on my PC) so GD may have issues with it that are similar to the NTC's, from GD's perspective. I'm sure that is why they will not link to the Tulare site to have your photos displayed. It's truly unfortunate because the photos of your work are very interesting, informative, and great to view.

  • An alternative
  • I hate the idea of other tractor lovers not being able to see your efforts and progress, Steve. You are welcome to email me the photos and I'll FTP them to my library here and post them for you. Since my FTP library is with GD, we won't have the security issue.

  • I can do that Ed, need your email, Joel Wilber or Del Huber have mine so I don't have to publish here.

  • Re: Security issue
  • I have this issue with Chrome all the time, I have Safari and it is the same, they both will not open Wikipedia although I have read that Firefox will open that at least, but now I have to upgrade this Mac to the next OS to make that work. What a PITA!!

I used to put my photos up on my website for storage using Go Daddy's FTP manager, but they stopped that and I have to use Filezilla, which I also need to upgrade to use so I have not transferred anything now for about 4 years. I am doing some pretty interesting work on my AL hood s/n 292 that would be instructive and interesting. Lots of different things on that tractor than on the later steel hood tractors. I keep thinking of spending the time to get caught up on the newer technologies, but the older I get the less ambitious. You would think that living here in Palo Alto with all my high tech neighbors I'd be really with it, but not so!

  • I just did a search and came up with entries that I made. Look closely at your search criteria. Dumb computers do what we don't want! NO! It ain't me. BTDT, too often.
