leaky rear tire
I noticed my calcium filled rear tire of my 9N is leaking out the valve stem. I believe the valve is bad but I can't find the valves anywhere. The rear wheel is situated so the valve is at 12 oclock to minimize calcium loss for now.I would appreciate some suggestions for replacement sources.

Re: leaky rear tire
One thing to try is to get you a new valve stem cap, one that has a sealing surface on the top inside of the cap. This will seal the valve stem and stop the leak if it is leaking from the valve. You can also replace the valve, but if it is very old you may not be able to get the old one out, or the whole valve assembly. I would try just the cap first. I did that years ago and it's still not leaking. Below is a video on replacing the valve and the valve stem assembly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJbYFy57J_Q

Re: leaky rear tire
There are 2 types of valve cores for loaded tires that I am familiar with. Here is one. You need to know if yours is like this or the other type

Re: leaky rear tire
The type shown screw into the valve stem. The other type screws over the valve stem. I'm looking for a picture to show you. Find a picture, find a source.

Re: leaky rear tire
The center of the valve stem or around it? My local tire shop has patches that go on the tube that include a new valve stem. Fleababy/amazon might be a good place to look for just the valve. If around it, then it needs a tear down and inspection.

Re: leaky rear tire
It is leaking from the center not around the stem.

Re: leaky rear tire
I would jack it up to get the weight off the tire, with the valve stem @ 12:00 and try to get the valve insert out of the stem and replace it.

Re: leaky rear tire
I already have it at 12 oclock. The tractor is 25 miles away and I can remove the valve next week and perhaps I can post a pic of it.
