9n belt tensioner
Does anyone know where I can find the specs for the belt tensioner bolt? Mine broke and I need to replace it. Thanks! Jim

Re: 9n belt tensioner
You actually do not need one. I have a 1946 2N that I have owned and used for over 25 years and it never had one in all that time. Just tension up the belt to spec, tighten the bolt up tight and it will not move. I do install two lock washers, one under the head and one under the nut, needed or not.

Re: 9n belt tensioner
Ed provided a very good diagram. Maybe this is the bolt you are referring to. If it is I may have one.

Re: 9n belt tensioner
If you are talking about part #38 in this diagram: it's a 1/4"-28 x 7/16"

Re: 9n belt tensioner
Dont laugh, but what specifically does the !/4-28x 7/16" Mean. I can find some of it but not all. This bolt is 7.5 inches long. It had a hole drilled through it, which is where it broke. Thanks!

Re: 9n belt tensioner
It's not really pertinent because I thought that you were referring to the bolt that holds the adjustment bracket to the engine. Del correctly interpreted which bolt you were talking about. But, to answer your question the 1/4-28 x 7/16" means a 1/4" diameter bolt with 28 threads per inch and 7/16" long.
