9N parking brake
Is there anyone who fabricated a parking brake on a 9N besides using a cinder block or log behind the tire?
I have a ‘41 9N. I would be interested in any info on how to maybe fabricate or buy some kind of setup. I live on a very hilly property, it would be a great help.

Red Rock Manufacturing in Pella, Iowa, makes reproduction parking brakes that will work on your 9N. Go to the LINKS section on this website and click on the Red Rock link. It will take you to their webpage with details about several brake products. I have a set of the FarMech brakes on my 1949 8N. They work very well. Good luck.

Your tractor has parking brakes. Look closely where the pedals start from. You should see a notched piece and on the pedal a paul or tab that will drop into the notches when the pedal is depressed. Not convenient to reach but it is supposed to hold the pedal. down

Yes. I found what you were describing. Thank you Richard 🙂. What engineer thought that up? It is hard to reach and no doubt fingers have been caught in the process in fumbling around to find the pawl / latch.

Hey Ron, a friend has updated his 8N by adding a rod extention upward for easier access. He got the idea from an 800 series which has this standard.I will update my 2N with this modification.
