8N and Jubilee front wheel hub seal
8N and Jubilee front wheel hub seal Trying to get the correct seal. All the seals for sale the ID is to large to seal on the spindle surface. The correct ID is 1.567 roughly. The ones out there measure ID 1.985 roughly. How could these be the correct seal? Anybody ran into this?

Re: 8N and Jubilee front wheel hub seal
They aren't like normal grease seals. The rubber portion faces out away from the hub and rubs on the back "washer" part of the spindle not on the shaft part that the bearing rides on.

Re: 8N and Jubilee front wheel hub seal
Seal p/n 9N1190B is correct. It seals on the inner boss which is a larger diameter than the spindle where the inner bearing rides. See IT FO-4 manual page 16 picture. A seal that's the same diameter as the inner bearing diameter will jam against the inner large boss and the hub will not make up. The aftermarket Master Parts Catalog shows seal fits 39 to 53 Ford tractors.

Re: 8N and Jubilee front wheel hub seal
I could be wrong since its been a while that I dealt with my front bearings but I thought those seals sealed on the backside of the seal not on the actual spindle. I remember the sealing edge of the seal was flat not "lipped".
