Valve springs
The new style valve springs have a tighter wind on one end. Does this tighter wind go towards the valve guide or toward the spring keeper. Using on non-rotating valves. May not matter, but placing the tighter wind toward the guide would seem like it would interfere with the tool used to pull the guide down to insert or remove the horseshoe clip. No clear photos or instructions in any of the manuals.

Re: Valve springs
The tighter wind goes toward the valve guide and is wound tighter due to being exposed to more heat at the valve guide. Same is true on over head valve engines, the tighter wind goes toward the cylinder head. Mark

Re: Valve springs
Decided winding toward the guide. Heat issue made sense. Thanks.
