How often do you disassemble and clean your carb?

It’s been a few years, at least 3 since I last did mine.

I haven't touched the Marvel carb on my 9N since atleast the mid 70's. I do clean the glass sediment bowl whenever I see debris floating around.

Only if I find that starting/running issues are fuel related and the three filters are clean, gas tank vent is open, etc. A simple diagnostic that you can perform is to open the valve on the sediment bowl, get a pint Mason jar and remove the drain bolt from the fuel bowl on the carb. If it quickly (maybe a minute or so) fills the Mason jar you know you are getting good flow through it.

If it is now working, don't "fix" it until it is broke!

I am pretty sure that is exactly what I told him, Jesse. That said, it is his tractor, so therefore his prerogative on how he maintains it, which is why I referred him to our library of helpful information (one tutorial of which was co-authored by you) to help him do it correctly.
