41 9N running rough, at cold start, then smoothes out.
Hi All, my 9N runs rough like missing on a cylinder or two. I have done all the replacements on the ignition system, and carb replacement within the last year. I know most of these aftermarket parts come from China. Although the points, condenser, rotor and cap, plugs and wires, coil, are only 2 months old. Have any of you have had an experience with faulty replacement parts? I feel like I have to do a tune up again to get this thing running right. The tractor does straighten out when its at operating temp, but takes a bit to get there. So, I am thinking it is an electrical issue.

Perhaps your newer carb needs tweeking. Sounds a little lean to me. It takes more fuel to run a cold engine. Have you cleaned the fuel bowl and the filter screens in the fuel system? Electrical and ignition issues usually act up when everything has warmed up.

Thanks for the info. Your advice,Farmer Brown, worked! I checked and cleaned the screens, cleaned out the sediment bowl again, and my tractor fired up, hitting on all 4s!
