  • Hi All, my 9N runs rough like missing on a cylinder or two. I have done all the replacements on the ignition system, and carb replacement within the last year. I know most of these aftermarket parts come from China. Although the points, condenser, rotor and cap, plugs and wires, coil, are only 2 months old. Have any of you have had an experience with faulty replacement parts? I feel like I have to do a tune up again to get this thing running right. The tractor does straighten out when it’s at operating temp, but takes a bit to get there. So, I am thinking it is an electrical issue.

  • Perhaps your newer carb needs tweeking. Sounds a little lean to me. It takes more fuel to run a cold engine. Have you cleaned the fuel bowl and the filter screens in the fuel system? Electrical and ignition issues usually act up when everything has warmed up.

  • Thanks for the info. Your advice,Farmer Brown, worked! I checked and cleaned the screens, cleaned out the sediment bowl again, and my tractor fired up, hitting on all 4s!
