  • Side-mount distributor oiler
  • Putting my '51 8N back together, and I'm pretty sure my oiler is either broken, or wrong for my distributor. I've attached some pictures, can anyone offer any input? The little ball in the center will depress a little bit, but I don't know how you would get oil in to it. Also, there was no wick inside. The distributor has been mounted with the oiler pointing to the block, so it hasn't been used for years. It hasn't seemed to bother the ignition at all.

  • Oiler looks the same as a 52 8N. Use an oil squirt can to give it a few drops of oil while pressing down with the tip of the squirt can on the ball. Without a wick I wouldn't put oil in it, don't think it will get to the bushing. You can fabricate a wick pretty easy if parts places don't have them.

  • I had a '51. Sold it a year and a half ago when I sold the farm. I don't remember any oiler on the distributor.
