  • Why Ford Stopped Making Tractors - a video
  • This is an interesting 16-minute video that covers the history of the Ford Tractor.

  • Yes,
    Interesting video.
Nice shots of an aluminum hood 9N but no mention of that model. They pretty much focus on the 8Ns.
And aside from numerous views of that 9600, basically NO mention of the 65-90 Thousands, X600s,10 and 30 Series Fords.
They did show a Ford 1000 a few times.
I've never seen one in real life and they were built by Shibaura.
I will give a B+ for the info on the realities of mergers, buy-outs and the forces of capitalism but a C- on the representative models they showed

  • I almost bought a 1000 last year, ended up buying a 1310 4WD instead. The compact tractors by Ford were built by Shibaura from 1973 to 1998.

  • Yeah, I seen it. Like a lot of these type of videos, some of the information isn't correct, condensed, or just plain wrong. This one is okay, but does have some missing information and misleading bits. These type of videos required a lot of research, back-checking, more research, etc., and if you don't get your information correct, you're in danger of putting out false information. Sort of like tractordata.com, which is considered the gospel of tractor data, but does have some mistakes.

  • Tractordata is a good place to start but should not be relied upon.
