  • 9n footboards
  • On my "new" 1941 9n I have footboards. I know that the 9n came with foot pegs. I have seen footboards on 9n/2n that hang off the peg and brake/axle rods. Mine are more like the 8n footboards they connect near the rear of the radius arms and the hydraulic side cover. It has a hole in it where the clutch rod goes threw. Were these off a late 2n model or an aftermarket item? I'll try to post a pic.

  • Kirk,
Sean TX put 8N boards on his 9N. He added a 1 inch piece to the bracket on his for the clutch rod.

Would you happen to have a close-up picture of where your clutch rod comes through the floor board? I have a set that have been sitting in my garage for six months I need to modify and install.

    Thanks, Joe

I posted the photo below. I don't know what the second hole is for? If you need some measurement let me know.

  • Those are off an 8n. If you post this on the Nboard there are a number of people there who have converted them to fit. The 9n/2n never came from the factory with foot steps but there were a few aftermarket kits avialiable.

  • I have two 8n's and neither of their footboards have the hole for the clutch rod. That's why I was thinking they could be an aftermarket but not really sure?

  • That left foot board with the round vent holes and clutch rod hole is from a Hundred series tractor (600/800/601/801) or early Thousand series (pre-1965). I have the same running board on my 850.

  • From that view I see what you are talking about. I have never seen ones like that before but they are probaly aftermarket. Kind of similar to Massey Ferguson and later Ford footboards.

  • Jonas,

The Ferguson foot boards I have seen taper to the rear unlike the Ford ones that are rectangular.

  • Re: 9n footboards
  • Ferguson footboards yes. Massey Ferguson footboards were square starting around the mid-1960s.

  • Checked on my early 4000 and they have the same ones.

  • Funny, but this morning I was looking through the hundred series parts book for something and low and behold there they were. Both my 841's are elencos so they don't have that configuration on the left side. This is where the driveshaft runs back. I have an early 4000. I will check to see what is on that when I get out to the barn later today. It would made a good option for someone looking for footboard because they fit perfect and you won't have to hack them up to make them fit.
