v/8 flat head in 8N tractor
Would like to have information about the flat head v/8, I assume it was standard, what model and year and how many were made. Any other information would be helpful for I am writing a news letter for the Sydenham antique club.

Re: v/8 flat head in 8N tractor
Hi Dan, I converted a ford 8n to a v8 a couple of years ago. I used a awesome henry kit and did some modifying to the kit to make it the way i liked it. E-mail me with any questions. Jacob Hudson Wa

Re: v/8 flat head in 8N tractor
If you look in the "manuals" section of the website, you will find sales literature for the Funk V-8 conversion. Funk marketed conversion kits from about 1948-1952. Their six cylinder conversion kits were popular, with about 5,000 kits sold. The V-8 kits were not as popular, with only a few hundred sold. In more recent years, entreprenurs have made and marketed conversion kits to install a wide variety of motors in the Ford 9N/2N/8N family of tractors. I have even seen pictures of a tractor with a turbine engine. As others have told you, Ford never marketed a V-8 tractor on their own.

Re: v/8 flat head in 8N tractor
Hi dan- I assume you are relatively new around here so first, welcome the NTC. Next, you have posted your question on our HISTORY forum where we keep pertinnent information on N tractor productuion and related topics, and does not get as much traffic as our regular N-Board forum. You need to post your question there and you'll get many motre replies. That being said, 8N's were never standard factory made with V8's. V6 and V8 conversions were done by independant outfits like the Funk Brothers out of Kansas. Many members here have done them themselves and many others own original Funks. I can move your post to the regular board if you want... Tim Daley NTC Admin.

Re: v/8 flat head in 8N tractor
Thanks very much for the information. The V/8 is a nice running engine and I would assume a fair bit of power for that size of tractor. I can't assume their is any other information that I need. Dan
