Here's a one-page flier on the GASOILA thread sealant product that many here have endorsed. The product works well as I have used it as well. Use this on your sediment bowl NPT inlet thread into your gas tank. Must have tank dry and let this stuff set for a few days before using. Use instaead of the Teflon Tape procedure.

Last weekend I used a Lock LocTite brand product. It costs $14 for a tube (I think quite expensive) but I didn't have time to order the Gasoila online and LocTite was all I could find locally. Had to go to a local JD dealer to get it. I didn't have to wait for it to dry which I like. Turns out my leaks were caused by a non-vented gas cap. A small drill hole recommended by the N Board and it's fine now. No leaks in a weak which is a big success on this ole thing.

What kind of leaks did you have that a hole drilled in the gas cap fixed it?

Leaks around the glass jar and shut off valve. Also the threaded pipe that comnects the valve to the gas tank itself leaked through the threads. There was just too much pressure buildup in the tank after running it for a while. Of course the tank gets hot because the engine is right below it, the fuel expands and it had to release pressure somehow and somewhere so it pushed the fuel downward. Replacing all those leaking parts didn't help it needs to be vented. Haven't had a problem since drilling the hole.

So Tim, have you tried this stuff yet ? Where & how can a guy get a can to try ? I would like to try it . God bless, Ken
