Plastic shortage. . .
I went to Home Depot this morning looking for the official orange buckets.
Looked at the ends of the isles when I first walked in and saw nothing.
I figured okay, must be down towards the paint dept and once again somebody decided to put them all into one area. Not too smart because they make a lightweight easy carry basket and a good way to generate revenue when the shopper can use them and invariably will buy it at check out.
I walked by several clerks on my way towards the paint section and when I inquired of a clerk, she appeared stymied by the question but eventually got out that they should be in the paint area I was going towards.
I got down there, didn't see any large stacks and asked the young lad standing there.
He said someone had returned one and it was down an isle on the right.
"What?' I asked.
He then informed me there was a plastic shortage.
If there is a plastic shortage, then the price of gas must be at $5, $6, $7 or more a gallon as plastic comes from crude oil as does gasoline.
The youngster looked at me like I had horns coming out of my head.
"Well, if you say so."
Hmm, could it be covid killed off a few chuna people making these?
I went next door to Lowes and they didn't have a plastic shortage. I got my 6 buckets.
