  • Is pearl harbor day. I was 4 years old when they hit Pearl Harbor. I didn't know fully what was going on. Ladys were crying and men were standing around worrying. But I knew it was terrible. Most people today could care less. They did not go through what we at home went through with any wars thereafter. Now the IDIOTS running the country throw money and food at them, because they will not WORK. They put us trillions of dollars in debt.

  • Pearl is where we got smacked for interfering with another nation and Japan lost the war by failing to complete the mission.
Question becomes on of why did Japan go to war? A war they knew they couldn't win?

You can pretty much follow the same objective mind set clear into the 70's when we gave up Viet Nam. They 'won' the war. 250,000 plus grave sites across the country, Russia never did produce the "Tall Cotton" promises they made to VietNam and not too long ago, I picked up an item in the store stamped "Made in Viet Nam".

It would appear that Viet Nam has gone to capitalism.
Japan 'lost' the war also. Mitsubishi went from making Zero's to cars.
Honda, Nissan, Sony, just to name a few.

Now days, we just 'invade' a country and give them 95 billion dollars worth of free merchandise. Hope the neighbors don't get too mad about talibanland.

  • Look at what went on.
Japan wanted to expand their influence. Roosevelt cut off supplying oil to Japan. Japan needed oil to support their expansionism.
They needed coal and iron ore. Not enough readily available without conquering others.
The military dominated the emperor and convinced him that war was the only way.
After the war, we occupied Japan. For them it was (and is still) a national shame. Part of the war settlement terms were (and still are): we guaranteed them a supply of oil.
I'm sure that there are many other issues that were a part of the world order at the time, just as there are today that our politicians play loose with.

  • "loose"?

I like the recent story that Japan is building up it's military.
    Currently second strongest (?)
    china who?
    I suppose now that the,
(B)iggest (I)diot (D)emocrats (E)ver (N)ominated // biden, has built up a military in talbinland the rest of the nations should be building up a stronger military.
