  • 5.9 raise for SS?
  • And I just read that inflation is up 6.8% in November. I wonder if Big Da-Da is going to get a double digit bounce in an increase next year? 5.9 is nice considering most everyone is raising prices to assist retired people celebrating a higher income from higher prices, LAST YEAR. . .

So seeing as how everyone is assisting in the celebration, I wonder of SS can see a 10.9% increase next year to carry on the good times.
Whoo hoo, Let the good times roll!

However, if all some people have is an SS check, Looks like that 5.9% should have been closer to 12.7% to say afloat.

I suppose I will be seeing more "retirees" working the check out lines.

  • Share prices follow profits.
An increase in the supply of money is the root cause of inflation.
Two truths worth following. But the spin doctors will offer up several competing ideas. What the average family quickly finds out is things cost more. It is hard to escape.
Could be a jug of milk, sheet of plywood, pulley belt for the car.
Up here our spender in chief has promised to increase OAS, old age security by 10% starting soon. About $63.50 for me. The current food prices have increased by about the same amount.
On another front we here about affordable housing all the time. Unless someone else pays for it, housing is not affordable in these parts. Renting is a problem.
House down the road from me is for sale, about $500,000. That amount at 5% is worth about $2,000 per month, yet renters would like to rent it for about half that much.
    Oh dear. Island Mike

  • One left hand giveth a social security increase......

another left hand taketh away with a Medicare part B deduction increase

And both hands make it taxable income in the end.

  • And we (at least me) thought an index finger in "the end" was bad. LOL
Might as well smile. Can't do much about it until next year.
