Disappointing tractor prices
Good morning all. Wife and I went to a large auction 300+ people and was a little disappointed in what the antique tractor prices brought. Farmall 400 Diesel, 1800 not to bad, JD A, good paint good rubber, 1050. F-20 good paint, good rubber, 1050. AC WC real nice paint and new rubber, 1200. Farmall H clean good rubber good paint. 1000. Massy Harris 44 good paint good rubber, 600. John Deere GP, good paint and good rubber, 800. All of the tractors started right up and were driven to the auction site. Is this what the going prices are all around the country or just southeastern Wisconsin. Kind of a shame, ya can't rebuild one for 1000 or less. Tires are that alone. Bottom falling out??? Just was a litle dissapointed, just my thoughts.

Re: Disappointing tractor prices
Prices of antique tractors collapsed nearly 20 years ago and have not recovered. Aside from a very few exceptions, mostly 2 cylinder JDs, they will never recover. Like most, I kept my vintage Fords too long but an disposing of such now due to necessity.

Nice turnover. I won't be anywhere near that. I have a load of misc. scrap going to salvage tomorrow. I did not realize how much non-useable stuff had accumulated in dark corners of the barn.

Re: Disappointing tractor prices
I just sold my '49 8N in north Idaho with a 501 Sickle bar mower. Tractor was not a trailer queen. Took awhile, with most respondents wanting just the mower. Was a 12 volt conversion with electronic ignition and near new tires. Included all original take off components, 3 spare sickles, a complete new pitman with bearings and new pitman woods. It went to a small irrigated farm to cut hay. Sold it for $4000. I was afraid of what you said about tractor prices if I separated the tractor and mower. Lots of bare N tractors for sale now.

Re: Disappointing tractor prices
That is an astonishing price, at least for my, SE IN, area.
