Using the new Apple thing I got for Christmas. Will be less bulky for travel than my laptop.
But, the 318, and the 727 gear box are out of my 77 Dodge camper van. My free van will nudge $15,000 soon.
The engine is in good condition, but the timing chain is toast, and the stock cam gear has fibre gears like an early Ford side valve. The fibre gears, and the potential for failure, and the need for a bit more power, were the reasons the 318 was removed, and now is in many pieces. I have about $2,500 worth of new bits to install, with a launch date of early April. Then we will be running down the coast highway, turn left before LA, and go to New Mexico.
That is the plan from over here, with many rain delays.

He had them in his '57, '61, '68, and '73 Plymouths.
He didn't like when they dropped the pushbutton shift either!

My sister had a 318 in a 68 Barracuda with floor shift automatic. She loved that car. Later when she got married they inherited a green 4 door Dart from her husband's grandma that had a 318. It was a dog until they got all the carbon deposits burned off. Grandma apparently never got above 45 mph and never went more than 4 miles on any one trip. After it got cleaned out it was a tire fryer...definite sleeper.

My uncle had a Dodge Polara with the pushbutton shifter on the left side of the dash. I used to think that was the coolest thing ever.

My buddy had a 318 four barrel straight stick 4 door savoy that was really bad. he could out run a lot of those '57 Chevy's. those were the days.
