  • Goin' green with gasoline
  • Get an EV, they said. You'll be environmentally cool, they said. Stop paying high prices for gasoline and go green, they said. You'll be able to virtue signal on social media every day, they said.

Who needs the laws of physics, economics, infrastructure, or plain old common sense? Just electrify! Electrify! Electrify!

    Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............NO!!!!

  • The republic of Kalifornia recently announced that charging electric cars would be limited to the grid because the grid can't handle the demand. Rolling brown outs everywhere.

  • Will "EV" come to stand for "Executive Vehicle"?
  • Because the little guy won't be able to afford a new one and you can't take the risk of buying a used one.

According to Mining.com, battery-grade lithium carbonate is up 95 percent thus far in 2022, and a whopping 472 percent over the course of the past 12 months.

As the soaring prices of lithium and other minerals needed to manufacture EVs soar, the costs of battery packs for EVs are seeing pressure. Already the battery pack is one of the most expensive parts of an electric vehicle, with prices ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 to replace them and that does not include labor.

Industry analysts claim that an EV battery pack can last between five and 20 years, and while new electric car buyers will not likely face the cost of replacing one in the short term, anyone buying a used EV might expect to have to sink up to $25,000 more into their purchase when their used battery pack expires and that would be a back door cost on top of the purchase price of the used car that might make procuring a used EV cost-prohibitive.

Add to this that the Chi-coms produce 20% of the world's supply and can cut us off at any time.

Soooooooooo.....can we expect to hear our tone-deaf Sec. of Transportation tell us "Let them ride bikes" in the near future?

  • And.....when more people do go EV.....
  • It will bring back memories of waiting for gas under the Carter administration.

Wonder how much fun it will be with the Republik of Kalifornia's rolling blackouts????

  • I am waiting for the pay stations at the shopping center to recharge the EV.
    Oops.
    Mea Culpa.
    I forgot.
    Electricity is free.

We just won't talk about the electric grid.
    Oh yeah.
    Mea Culpa again.
I really mean it this time.
Big idit said he was going to "Build Back Better".
Build back what was never there.
    Howza' work?
Lucy, you got some 'splainin' to do.
Maybe the local Oregon dems can 'splain' it.
    Talking to them is fun.

I talked to one of them yesterday.
    It was fun.
I told her what B.I.D.E.N meant.
    She laughed hysterically.
Then I mentioned the lap top that turned out to be legit.
I also brought up the Chinese payout.
She said she didn't like the last one and that they were all crooked.
I could see she wasn't going to change her mind that it was all Bushes fault.

Last time I ran into a demo was fun when she said the gobmint had all the money and when they needed more they just printed it out.

The sorry point being this is a fact of real life. Economically unsound, but a true fact of the "Build Back better".

  • That sunbeach opened Pandora's box.
Putzin is just about down to the nuclear option and then see what China does to Taiwan.
Cancel culture cancelled out the world.
