Re: Banana Republik
We will be watching. I would like to be a poll challenger but at 79 I don't need the grief. However, we will also NOT use absentee ballots. I don't like unattended boxes for depositing absentee ballots or surrendering my ballot at the clerk's office and never see it deposited in a secure box.
So, we will be going to the polls. But we will not check the box for straight party vote. Instead, we will mark each ballot for the candidates of our choice even though a straight party vote would be the same.
I have already visited my township clerk's office and I requested and received a "sample" ballot. It will be the basis of how we mark are ballots.
Further, I told the clerk that I will be observing the precincts (many not my own) for proper positioning of ballot machines. In Michigan, no one is to be within 10' of the electronic ballot reader EXCEPT if a voter is having difficulty. I have done this in the past and even visited precincts outside of my township. I encourage you to do the same.

Become a poll watcher
In my county in the past, we have never had Republican poll watchers. There have been some Democrat poll watchers, but in 20 years of being a Chief Officer of Elections in my county, I have never seen a Republican one. After the 2020 election, our local Republican Committee formed a voter-integrity sub-committee to take steps to ensure fair elections. As part of that committee, I authored a poll-watcher training guide and have trained a little over 200 Republican poll watchers. This is also being done in other parts of Virginia. The Democrat General Registrar for Prince William County just announced he is resigning after the November election due to the "b.s. ploy by Republicans" to monitor his performance. This is the same county where his also Democrat predecessor was just charged with two felonies related to the 2020 election.
Poll watchers create accountability and I would encourage everyone who can to get involved or better yet, become an Election Officer in your municipality and be part of the process to keep it fair and accurate.
