  • George Santos
  • Should have studied the Obama play book a bit closer.

  • Unlike leftists, I am an equal opportunity basher, and this guy needs to go.

Unfortunately, NY dem governor Hochul will appoint a demo to replace him when he resigns. The jury is still out but we could still see two more years of Speaker Pelosi, for multiple reasons.

That said, almost everyone emblishes their resumes (myself excepted) though this is an especially egregious example. Resume emblishment (lying) has been a pet peve of mine my entire professional career.

Santos, being a Republican, is receiving (and will receive) no support from the LBGTQ community because he is not the right openly gay guy.

  • Like John Wayne told Bruce Dern in "The Cowboys," I hate a liar. Actually, used a clip of that scene in closing argument during a trial defending Harley Davidson and the local Harley Dealer (I had the dealer). They asked for $20M (brain damage case) and were awarded zero. Plaintiff was a liar. I am sure the Duke helped the jury get to their verdict.

  • Good for you, Jim, and good movie. I've seen it multiple times and well remember the scene.

Ever encounter any plaintiffs who do not lie?

  • Can't think of one. To learn more about the case, just Google "James Rushford Harley Davidson." These plaintiffs lied and lied and got caught.

  • Interesting.

Though an avid rider indacades past, I had not considered ABS vis a vis motorcycles until now.

No doubt rider was traveling too fast and ABS, optional or otherwise, would have made little or no difference.

Should have taken the settlement, and should have had decent insurance.

  • The rider testified 3 x in deposition (before I got the case) that he was traveling 65-70 mph on the freeway when he took his eyes off the road for 10-15 seconds to check another bike behind him before trying to exit the freeway. He had seen a "slow traffic ahead" sign and wanted to get off onto surface streets. When he finally looked ahead, he saw a "wall of stopped traffic." He tried to brake but ended up high siding the bike and slamming his wife's head onto the pavement. Even with the helmet, she suffered a significant head injury. He tried to change his recollection at trial, but I just kept reading his depo testimony back to him. Plaintiffs' counsel was the "great" Bill Veen from San Francisco. When we played the movie clip during closing, he turned dead white. He spent about half of his closing/closing saying what a bad guy I am. Jury did not like his case. Trial went on for 6-weeks. Defense case took about 2-days. I put on 3 witnesses and Harly Motor Company put on one.

  • It all is starting to add up.
Looking at the larger distant picture that may not be so distant.
