  • Mich Gov. "State of the State" address
  • I did watch, the whole thing! I got to watch her cheerleader. A woman was to the Gov's right and directing applause and how long to applaud. It reminded me of the North Korean "Dear Leader" applause and tears.
If you remember, when "Dear Leader" died, people attending had to really, really, really cry or be subject to "discipline". Gretchen was watching closely as to who did and didn't hold the applause.

  • Not much longer and your 'smurt TV" will tune it in for you, with a camera watching you watch the performance and an AI robot to hunt you down if you fail to react accordingly.
Who was it? Orson Wells? 1984?
He missed by a few years.

  • Dear Leader. . .
Having spent some time in the anus of the free world, S Korea, I have been close enough to see more than I ever desired. Korea is a great country to visit for about 2, maybe 3 days. That's enough. Time to go.
If you ever do go, be sure not to look backwards when walking close to the door openings on the houses or shops. If you are looking backwards when going past a residence you might not see the little boy who is standing at his front door pithing onto the sidewalk.
Now if you walking too close to a business, the shop keepers hire pushers. Those people are paid to shove you into a shop as a customer.
Driving in downtown Seoul is great. 70, 80 MPH and those traffic lanes are just a guide. Yes. You can put 3 cars in 2 lanes.
If your also walking too slow down the sidewalk, you can get pushed on to get out of the way. That is acceptable.
Korea is a great place if you don't mind getting peeved on, shoved and pushed.
    Go back?
No thanx. 16 months for me was enough.
Oh yeah. Seoul is about 35 miles from the DMZ. Easily within missile range.
That's about a minute if your lucky.
    Poof.
