  • France has a short memory
  • France’s concept of strategic autonomy

Macron emphasized his pet theory of “strategic autonomy” for Europe, presumably led by France, to become a “third superpower.” Speaking with POLITICO and two French journalists on his plane back from China, he said “the great risk” Europe faces is that it “gets caught up in crises that are not ours, which prevents it from building its strategic autonomy.”

  • Going back a bit further than WWII and into the 1700's. . . gives another aspect.
I just wonder if the French are going to learn the Italian salute?
    You know. Both arms up.
Currently however, running away from a country that has dementia leading it, is not an unwise choice.

  • I believe the Italians might have had it first. I wonder. . . is that going to be the salute of the European military in the near future? Kinda like the euro which appears to have failed to develop as promised, only this one is an upper body stretching exercise. . .
