  • Darn I just bought an Ewak. That is an electric weed whacker. Made by Stihl.
We have a ban on gas powered machinery on my Island. No lawn mower, weed whacker, chain saws, nuttin. I was away for almost two months and my place was looking really scruffy.
Getting a reliable mowing service on my Island has not gone well. No one ever shows up.
The ban will stay in effect until it rains. I think three days rain and they ease the restriction. Meanwhile the Ewak is running fine. Runs about 30 minutes on the stock battery.
My previous venture with E power, was an electric scooter, with 2 spares. Made in China. Piece of junk, quite similar to my diesel heater made in China. Vot to do, how to fix? Came up with a brilliant solution. Gave it all away.

  • And, it ain't just the cars...
  • The "green" source of energy for EV cars also burns really well, apparently.

Not So 'Green': Wind Turbine Bursts Into Flames, Will Likely Be Left to Burn Itself Out

A wind turbine in Scroby Sands, UK, has burst into flames, kicking out more carbon today than it would have reduced in its lifetime. This 200-foot tall turbine is a mile and a half off of the east coast of Britain.

What can you do? Nothing. The fire will just have to burn itself out, with all that smoke going into the atmosphere, probably providing more pollution than it was designed to replace.

The turbine is part of the Scroby Sands wind farm offshore from Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, U.K. RWE, the German company operating it, said the wind farm’s 60-megawatt capacity can provide power for more than 48,000 homes, the BBC reported.

Except this week — the fire shut down much or all of the wind farm for perhaps 24 hours. And the British Coast Guard is enforcing a no-go zone of about 1,500 feet around the broken machine.
