  • Warnings heeded.....
  • Hi Gents,
I don't read this Safety section of the board very often but came over here to see the ROPs info. Gary__Sarge posted. While I was here I read a few other posts and some of the stuff about capping the PTO when it's not being used just really made sense. I was out in the tractor shed the other night enjoying a cold beverage and thought about the stuff I read. I figured that while I was just hangin' out it would be a good idea to follow the advice and pull the dusty PTO cap off the shelf, take the ORC off and put it in the caps place and screw the cap on. I'm usually real careful around the back of the tractor anyway but it doesn't hurt to cover something with that much potential for causing serious injury.
    Thanks Guys, Lee

  • Hey Lee MO

I have a PTO cap on Sarge ever since about 1 week after I got him :)>>!!!

I checked the cap the other day and found the seal leaking.

So I got a new seal and bearing.

Now the time and most importantly the weather to change them both :)>>!!!

I try not to push my luck as healing is taking a lot longer than it use too :))>>>!!!

Glad you put the cap on, with the winter weather you could slip and God knows what would happen :((<

Have a Great Tractor Day Tomorrow

That's good. Take care of yourself first. Sarge will wait patiently until you get to his PTO leak. You may not need that bearing. I've put in 5 or 6 seals and haven't had to replace the bearing yet.
    Take Care, Lee

  • I'm doing the same thing Lee, since I don't even own a PTO implement now.
